The Druid's Eye - Volume 22 - Pt 2

My big news is that I am leaving in the morning to go to Beaufort, SC to visit one of the homes that Frank Lloyd Wright designed called Auldbrass Plantation. It's only open to visitors one weekend every two years so it's pretty special that I'm getting to go there. You can't take photos inside the home but I'll be sure to get some outside, it's a very unique looking house and I can't wait to show you! I love taking you all on my adventures with me, even if it's after the fact. If I can talk my sister-in-law into it, I want to visit the ruins of an old church as well that's on the way.

I've got some major projects coming up the next two months-

- Trip to Augusta, GA for a mini shoot-out with several alt models
- Summer Nymph shoot with Aleceyia
- Trip to Camden, SC to shoot a trash the wedding dress with Kira Alexis
- Gypsy shoot with a lovely young lady from Model Mayhem
- Winter Nymph shoot with Gabrielle (same one that did autumn) (tentative)
- Snow White shoot with Maharet Bloom in December

Not to mention some personal things-

- Doctor's visit to see about some surgery
- Barn Festival on a working farm on the 14th
- Getting my Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to the pickup spot on time. We are doing two of them this year. For more info see [link]
- The Leonid Meteor Shower on the 17th and 18th
- Thanksgiving Festivities!
- My birthday is on December 4th!
- Christmas shopping...a big pain in the ass if you ask me.

anyway just a little taste of my schedule, not to mention the daily grind which includes picking up my children from school every day which takes 1 1/2 hours due to them being in different schools, but I've been using the time I sit in the car line to listen to the CD's from the photography school I'm enrolled in now. Great stuff, gotta finish up Unit One and get my projects done. Oh and btw, we finally got our heat fixed just in time for the cold weather to strike (and cold in SC means in the 50's at night!).

Welcome to Druideye Photography, the home of Pamela Borawski's art. Please browse and comment if you wish. I love feedback, even a well meaning critique. I strive to improve, if you can help I will appreciate it.

I am a 37 year old married mother of two energetic sons. I live in South Carolina, and I love it here. My trip overseas to Cyprus, Egypt and Israel in 1994 sparked my interest in photography and it has gone from there. I started out very dedicated to film and some of my gallery is film, but I work primarily in digital these days, with my Rebel XSi. I feel my work has improved with digital mainly because scanned in film just doesn't have the look I like most. I've gotten an interest in lomography and vintage film look though and that's given me new hope for my old film

Photography is a huge love of mine. I don't think my work is what most people enjoy here on DA, but that's ok. I put up what I like and what I'm proud of, I don't put up work to please others BUT if my art makes someone smile or think, I am happy.

I will never tell you it's a good capture, just not my personal style. I +fav and run on many occasions, I just don't always have something to say everyone else hasn't already said. I dislike arrogance in artists - no matter their age. I don't think that any art is "bad", it may just not be what you prefer. I am kind-hearted and open-minded. If you need help with anything, even something personal, feel free to come to me and I will do what I can to encourage you.

I have overcome a lot in my life, and am proud of where I stand in this world. I am disabled, but I try not to let that rule my life. I know the pain of losing someone you love, and I know the feeling of emptiness in the soul. I live with the constant pain of fibromyalgia, but it does not make me who I am. I have gone through DBT counseling and it changed my life. I have finally found the right meds to support good mental health. I support NAMI, TWLOHA, cancer research, CFIDS research and many other organizations. I have recently taking over the admintration of *ArtForTheEscape which is for those of us who use art to escape from mental illness or pain.

I do believe in God, but I do not believe you can have a personal day-to-day relationship. I pray sometimes, even though I am ambiguous on whether it actually does anything. If I'm in a bind, I do find myself asking for prayer. I meditate and try to center my life, and practice mindfulness. I find God not in a building of brick and mortar, but in the canopy of nature, that is where God speaks to me. Nature is not my god, but nature is part of God. I do not consider myself pagan since I am monotheistic, but I have many pagan friends. I may not believe the same as you but I will respect your beliefs.

I am here to not only share my art with the world, but to share other's work as well. I love featuring work from others in my journals and in news features. I also love donating to contests, so hit me up if you're hosting one and I might just offer something.

in the end it's not about how many breaths you took, but about how many moments that took your breath away :)

I love the fact that you're doing this AIDs Project contest. I didn't have anything to enter, but it hits home for me and my family as my Hubby's brother not only has full blown AIDs now but also has cancer. He takes more medication than anything I've ever seen. My Hubby just lost his other brother to Hep B. We had him moved to our new home so he could be comfortable. He died while with us about 3 months ago. It was entirely preventable. People just aren't informed enough out there.
